- Vastu is all about the right location and the placement and the same rule applies for the overhead tank. Ideally it should be placed in the west or the southwest direction.
- In Southwest direction, the tank should be two feet above the topmost slab, as immensity at this side due to water, is actually beneficial for the house and the family.
- Although northeast corner is considered for water only in Vastu, but a big overhead tank placed in that direction is a strict no, as this side of your house should not be heavy in any condition, you can consider putting a small tank here.
- An overhead tank placed in southeast direction is an awful portent, and can result in loss of wealth or accidents. If still you have to place a tank there, make sure the tank is two feet above the slab of the roof.
- West side, which belongs to the Lord Varuna (Lord of Rain), is another preferable position, and in this direction, there is no need of any slab as well.
- No matter what the reason is never place overhead tank in the middle, as this place is known as the Bramhasthan, and placing a weight on Brahma can make the life of people to living in the house arduous.
