Today, vastu shastra is a widely popular and comprehensive building philosophy. According to vastu for house experts, the directions and shapes are the vital elements of designing house based on vastu shastra principles. Vastu is a science of direction that combines the five major elements of nature including – earth, fire, water, space and air.
The vastu principle differ for each room in home, the principles are discussed below:
Vastu Design For Bed Room:
According to vastu experts, the main bedroom should be constructed in the southward direction. Vastu experts also suggest that sleeping in the north direction should be avoided because it disturbs your sleep. You must not place a mirror on the wall opposite your bed. Also, you must avoid keeping auspicious items like god ideals or aquarium in the bedroom.
Vastu Design For Bathroom:
Just like other rooms, bathrooms too demand careful design. As per the vastu for house experts, bathroom should always be constructed on the north-west side of the home. All taps, showers, geysers and other bathroom fittings and fixtures should be placed facing the southeast direction. The commode should be fixed in the northwest direction. Typically, Indians don’t build bathroom next to the pooja room (a room of worship where god idols are kept).
Vastu Design For Study Room:
The study room should be constructed on the west side of the house and the door of the room should open from the north direction. Vastushastra experts suggest that the study should preferably have light colors. The shape of the study room should be either a perfect square or a rectangle. If you plan to use the study room only for reading, you can consider building it in the shape of a pyramid.
Vastu Design For Kitchen:
According to vastu for home design principles, the kitchen should always be constructed in the south-east or north-west (exactly 180 degree from south east) direction. The taps and other water fixtures within the kitchen should be fixed on the north-east side of the kitchen. The cooking platform and the gas or stove should be placed in a way that you face the east side while cooking.
