Have A Separate Pooja Room
This is the most important part of Vastu for pooja room, especially in the present context where space is so little. But according to vastu shastra one should always have a separate room for worshipping god and you should never make a place for offering pooja within your bedroom.
Location Of Pooja Room
Ideally the pooja room should be located at the north or east or northeast corner of the house. Preferably this room should be at the ground floor of the house and it should not be adjacent to toilet and kitchen. There should not be any bedroom or toilet or kitchen above the pooja room. The entrance to the pooja room should be facing the deities so that anyone can see the idols even from outside the room. The roof of the pooja room should be lower than other rooms on that floor. If that is not possible for any reason, you can install false ceiling to make the arrangements.
Color Of Pooja Room
According to the vastu shastra for pooja room, color of the room should be of light shade. You can either choose white, lighter shades yellow or blue. The color of the marble should be ideally white.
Arrangement Within The Room
You have to place the idols either at the northern or the eastern corner of the room. For ideal arrangement for Vastu for pooja room, you have make sure that the person who is offering pooja face the east or north side. The idols should be placed at a height so that the feet of the idols are not below the level of chest of the worshiper.
